The first Wellbeing and Health Open Forum of 2018 sees Newcastle CVS launch Conversation not Confrontation, its Home Office funded project to tackle prejudice and hate speech in communities, including presentations from Northumbria Police, and Gateshead Council and Newcastle City Council Prevent leads. And Birtley Community Partnership will speak about the reasons they are supporting the Conversation not Confrontation campaign. After the launch there is a choice of options: Wellbeing and Health Open Forum will hear from Newcastle City Council Safeguarding Adults team and Gateshead Safeguarding Adults about recognsing the signs of abuse, hate crime and modern slavery. Or Advocacy Centre North with the Community Partnership Against Hate Crime Northumbria will be running its new Hate Crime Awareness Workshop.
The Discovery Museum is accessible. BSL interpreters are booked for the Conversation not Confrontation launch and the Wellbeing and Health Open Forum. Lunch will be 50% vegetarian.
